Chris became a quilter about 15 years ago, but she began sewing much earlier because her mother loved to sew. Standing at her Mom’s sewing machine, Chris then created her own designs for her dolls with scraps from her mother’s projects.
Although piecing came easily to Chris, she only began machine quilting her own quilts about six years ago – and won “Best in Show” for quilting at the 2010 Williamson County Fair! Chris likes to create a quilt from a thought or a special fabric but she LOVES to personalize it with quilting.
Chris loves teaching techniques and marvels at the different ways students learn. Her teaching style is relaxed and adaptable to her students’ abilities…and she believes mistakes are nothing but a design opportunity!
Chris has created quilt patterns for herself over the years and as people would see them and clamor to make their own version, Chris created her own line of patterns called “Green Light Quilts”. Cottage Bloom is an example of one of Chris’s original designs… and we’re clamoring to make it!
