Signs of Spring

P1050670We’re going to make the call for an early spring here at Butterfly Meadows! (Our apologies to Punxsutawney Phil for stealing his thunder.)  But we are seeing the signs all around!  The daffodiles are not just peeking out of the ground, they look nearly ready to bloom.  The trees are budding and the fields are turning a little green.  Just this week, hundreds of robins were gathered on the ridge for their spring migratory route.  We’re guessing they thought B&B meant beds & birds!

Aside from watching the great unfurling of spring, there are lots of things going on at the Inn you’ll be interested in as well.  We’ve been busy adding new ways you can  Relax, Breathe & Create!

Our Calendar of Events will be filling up with great opportunties to enjoy some of our local talent and area events.  You don’t want to miss getting in on one of our fabulous Nashville Symphony packages.  These are so special, there is very limited availability. Also watch for special packages with opportunities to explore, have fun, enjoy music & arts, or just totally ~ Relax!

We are offering some special weekday rates for a limited number of rooms for weekdays through March.  Take the opportunity and sneak away and just ~ Breathe!

We are also announcing our new schedule of Quilt Retreats for 2013.  Those will begin with Learn to Quilt  and Wedding Ring Paper Piecing retreats in April.  So if you have always wanted to know how to create this wonderful creative art form, join us for the fun!  Of course, there are many options to choose from and we guarantee a great time!  You will also soon see some other opportunities for other special getaways so you can ~ Create!

There will be a few more nippy nights and a few more snow flurries to be sure.  But enjoy your nap Phil!  Spring is soon to be bursting with fresh life.  And Butterfly Meadows Inn & Farm is set to be filled with marvelous happenings.  Come be part of the story ~ it’s going to be an exciting year!

Family and Farmhouses

Ever notice how thoughts turn to family when you see an old farmhouse?  I suppose most of us can trace our heritage back to a farmhouse somewhere down the line.  On a dusty, dirt road where the sound of crickets or tree frogs lured you along.  Where time moved a little slower because there were fewer distractions.  Meals were shared around a large table where food and conversation were passed around that nourished the body and the spirit.  Windows were open to catch the night breeze and the moonlight fell softly across the wooden floor.  Work was hard, life was good and people were loved.  That’s what I remember ~  and that’s what we aim to share with you each time you visit us here at Butterfly Meadows Inn & Farm.  Come on over and share our place with folks you love.

Quilting Retreats

The art of quilting has gained a renewed popularity.  Join us in keeping the tradition going with new and modern twists.  Our quilting retreats are designed to incorporate new techniques with this centuries old art form.  The patterns and colors of todays fabrics range from reproductions to hand dyed to totally modern.  Recapture the spirit, the sense of community and unleash your creative spirit.

Never quilted? Never easier!  Check out the Paper Pieicing Wedding Ring Series or Learn To Quilt: T-Shirt and Paper Piecing or Caroline’s Lost Love quilt retreats.  Intrigued by the history of the Civil War?  You’ll love our Civil War Quilt Camp complete with visits to the Carter House and Carnton Plantation where this quilt was inspired.

Capturing the Summer Spirit

We are celebrating summer here on the farm.  We have just released a special group of events we’re calling 13 Weeks of Summer.  We’ll be spending the summer working in the gardens, watching the butterflies and offering our guests some wonderfully fun things to do.  The hay will be mowed, the deer will raise their fawns, the trails will be shady.  We’ll greet days enjoying bird song & early morning breezes and end them star gazing from the back porch.  There will be picnics for the park,  tickets for theatre productions, quilting events, relaxing getaways, meals prepared with our garden harvest and opportunities to just kick back.  The way summer should be, relaxed, easy and creative.  We hope you’ll join us!
