Meet the Innkeepers
Southern hospitality is just a way of life here at Butterfly Meadows Inn. It comes from a strong family heritage of caring for folks. Darlene, Norman and their daughter Abigail, use their unique family memories, travel experiences and personal abilities to weave for each guest an enjoyable experience. They truly want each guest to come as friends and leave as family.
Over 20 years ago, innkeepers Norman and Darlene Bobo’s honeymoon plans changed due to the effects of a hurricane. Little did they know that their alternate plan of staying in B&B’s along the eastern seaboard would foster the dream of having their own inn. And years of travel and staying in B&B’s has given them a very good idea about what is important to guests.
Darlene’s varied background as an event planner, business owner, educator, writer and public speaker brings many talents to the inn. But her skill as an organizer with real attention to detail is the secret behind the magic of making guest stays and events flow smoothly. Her genuine care for people is evidenced in the warm welcome each guest receives.
Norman’s background as a consultant, business owner, and trainer are invaluable assets as his knowledge of business operations, technology and an inherent interest all things make the wheels go round here seemingly effortlessly. A wide variety of life experiences and travels have made certain that he has never met a stranger and eagerly looks forward to meeting new friends.
As a busy college student and singer-songwriter, Abigail still contributes to the family work of inn keeping. Her musical background and years of training will delight guests as they may have the opportunity to hear practices and mini concerts. Concert piano, folk harp and the strains of the guitar and dulcimer are added to her helpful and willing customer service.
